Celebrate BOLD WOMEN'S SUNDAY

February 27, 2011 is "Bold Women's Sunday".

How will your congregation celebrate? Gathering women together? Teaching about Katie Luther?
The ELCA/ WELCA has some great resources ... check them out!

http://www.elca.org/Growing-In-Faith/Ministry/Women-of-the-ELCA/Engage-in-action-and-support-one-another-in-our-callings/Bold-Womens-Day/Ideas-for-Celebrating.aspx

From a one hour session on ' A Bold Life of Faith - Kathrinia Von Bora Luther' to 'Finding Your Bold' to making an 'Act Boldly' bookmark, resources are available. Use them. There is a great video (or live performance option) by Laurel Kelsch Jones http://www.katieluther.org/. Check her out!

Have you ever thought about how much each congregation depends on its' women? From the traditional roles of nurturing - Christian Education teachers, nursery workers, hospitality - coffee hours, soup suppers, Altar Guild - to the less traditional roles of pastor and council leadership.  Women are bold in our midst.

The challenge is to celebrate and inspire a new generation (or two).

So, we encourage you to offer some study on Katie Luther and highlight some Bold Women (from many generations) in your midst. It will make you happy!

Let us know how it goes ...
Kathy & Melissa
